David Mickey-Pabello

 

David Mickey-Pabello is a Graduate Student at the University of Michigan School of Education's Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education. As a graduate student David hopes to develop an eclectic academic skill set from the disciplines of demography, statistical analysis, public policy, and Latino studies as supplements to his core program in Higher Education. Aside from his studies he is very involved with extra curricular activities at the University. He takes part in several student leadership programs on campus, such as LeaderShape, in addition to taking a very active role in the Latino Community at the University of Michigan. David's on-campus involvement includes serving the Hispanic Heritage Month Planning Committee and advising the Mortar Board Senior Honor Society. This young man hopes for a bright future in the field of education , and its interactions with policy, latin@s, and demography. He is now working with the National Forum on Higher Education for the Public Good for a third year. At the Forum David is working on the Initiative on Immigration Reform and Higher Education (IIRHE), Leveraging Our Communities for Adult Learners (LOCAL), and Brightmoor, in addition to serving as the webmaster. The IIRHE project is unique to him given that he is a native of Mexico and very involved with the Latino community on campus.
